Maitri House Yoga promotes personal and social well-being along the intersection of spirituality, social justice, and psychology.

From the shared practices of Buddhism, Yoga, Ayurveda and Psychology we find the unlimited potential for Self realization, spiritual discernment, mental equanimity and social health. MHY offers classes, workshops and retreats on Yoga and Social Justice, Thai herbs and cooking, Vedic Athletics, Practical Buddhist Dharma, Yogic Philosophy, and Cultural Competency. We offer guidance on the whole health of body and mind through Yoga Nidra, meditation, breath work, listening, life-style planning and cultural introspection. We invite you to use this site to learn more about any of these topics, register for any event, and sign up for private mindfulness-based athletic training sessions.

New Classes Starting in September!

August 30th, 2010

We have settled into Pleasant Hill and have already formed a new relationship with Diane Valentine of Yoga Movement in Walnut Creek.  She has graciously allowed us space to continue creating our community there.  We will begin teaching Yoga Nidra and Meditation classes Friday mornings from 9:30-10:45am and will be hosting Dharma evenings with Thai food once a month starting Sunday September 19th from 5:45-7:45pm.  “A workshop on the nourishing qualities of stillness and rest on the body, mind and spirit.  This two hour workshop will include guided meditation, Yoga Nidra, a short dharma discussion on these practice principles and fresh, homemade Traditional Thai food.”  $40 per person.  Please let us know if you’d like more information about either the classes or workshops starting in September.
